2009 National Elite Futures Camp Oklahoma City

August 4-6

A NEW EVENT - OnDeck Softball's Elite Future Camps have a new addition this year, the Oklahoma City Futures Camp in August.  This camp will continue OnDeck Softball's tradition of

  • helping young players be seen and evaluated by some of the top collegiate programs in the country, and
  • helping college coaches find the players they need.

WHERE WILL IT BE HELD - The Oklahoma Futures Camp will be held at beautiful Ann Lacy Stadium on the campus of Oklahoma City University.

WHEN WILL IT BE HELD - The Futures Camp will be held on August 4-6 during Gold Nationals.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE - All young players in the 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 classes who are not playing in Gold Nationals are eligible to participate.  However, this is an invitation-only camp, and only those players who are extended an invitation by OnDeck Softball can attend.

WHAT IS THE FORMAT - OnDeck Softball will invite a maximum of 210 players to the camp.  Those 210 will be divided into groups of 70.  Each group will work out one day.  The morning and early afternoon will be devoted to a structured skill evaluation.  The evening session will be devoted to modified games.

WHAT COACHES WILL BE THERE -  OnDeck Softball works with over 120 of the top Division 1 programs across the country, and many of those programs attend the Elite Future Camps.  At the Southern California camp last year, over 80 of the top programs in the country were represented.  We expect 100 - 120 collegiate coaches to attend this camp.  No one can ever guarantee that any coach attends an event, but the past is a great indicator.  And OnDeck Elite Futures Camps are considered by college coaches to be the finest recruiting events in the country.

HOW CAN A PLAYER BE INVITED - The only way to be invited is to be seen by OnDeck Softball, or be recommended by a trusted associate of OnDeck Softball.  If you believe that you are one of the top young players in the country, you need to immediately contact the Allisters and let them know of your interest.  In your correspondence, please indicate the honors and/or experiences that have separated you from your competition.  The Allisters will make every attempt to see you in the weeks ahead.

WHAT SHOULD A PLAYER DO IF HER PATH DOES NOT CROSS WITH ONDECK - Videos can help in some instances.  If your path will or does not cross with OnDeck, then please get your video on the OnDeck Softball website.  The Allisters will evaluate every video that appears on the site.

WILL JOINING ONDECK SOFTBALL GUARANTEE A PLAYER A SPOT IN THE CAMP - It can help your chances, but it will not guarantee a spot.  However, simply joining OnDeck Softball can help you be recruited and seen simply due to the nature of the website.  Many coaches across the country check OnDeck each morning to see who has joined overnight.  Many players have first been seen by the school they ultimately attend on the OnDeck website.

DOES A PLAYER HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF ONDECK TO BE INVITED TO THE CAMP - The Allisters are in search of the best 200 young players  across the country to participate in front of the best NCAA college coaches.  If the Allisters see you and believe you are capable of playing at a high level of college softball, they will issue you an invitation.  The OnDeck website can simply help.

WHY IS THE ELITE FUTURES CAMP BEING HELD AT THIS TIME - Attending the Oklahoma City Elite Futures Camp can ultimately be one of the most memorable experiences of your softball life.  For one thing, it will allow you to display your skills in front of the top collegiate programs in the country.  Additionally, coming to this Elite Camp will allow you to see and experience the thrill of Gold Nationals, where you will be playing in the years to come.
